There's no distance in prayer

Sy diberkati dengan sharing Pst. Joel OSteen. Please read it till the end.

*** One time I heard a story about a college professor who took a group of students to China for a field trip. Several days into the journey, he began to experience incredible pain in his stomach. It got so bad that in the middle of the night he had a friend call an ambulance, and they rushed him to the emergency room. They were staying in a small town with no major hospitals, but the medical professional in charge discovered that the man's appendix had ruptured. There were no surgeons around and really there wasn't anything he could do. He said to the man's friend, "I can give him some pain medication, maybe some sleeping pills, but my advice is that he should make peace with his family." Then the professor began to have convulsions and go in and out of consciousness.

Now, the professor's father was a pastor back home in the United States. At the exact same time all of this was happening, the father was at his church in the middle of a service. He began to feel an incredible burden for his son. He tried to ignore it, but it just wouldn't go away. Finally, he stopped the service and he said to the congregation, "We've got to pray for my son. Something is wrong." They got down on their knees and began to pray.

Back in China at the small, county hospital at 2:00 a.m. in walked one of the most well-known surgeons in all of China. In fact, it's the same surgeon who travels with the U.S. President when he visits China. The hospital was so amazed to see him. He said, "I'm here to take care of the American." They rushed him into surgery, and he ended up saving the professor's life.

The next day, the surgeon said to the professor, "Who were those two men that you sent into my office yesterday?" The professor said, "I didn't send anybody to your office. I don't know anyone here in China. I've only been here for a couple of days." The surgeon said, "That's odd because two men came to me dressed in nice suits. They looked like government officials. They said you were a very important person, and I needed to be here in the middle of the night to operate on you."

Friend, there is no distance in prayer. You never know who is praying for you and how your prayers are affecting others all over the world. God knows how to work things out. Even 7,000 miles away, God had people praying for this man. That's why we can live life in peace. We don't have to try to figure it all out, we just have to trust God and follow His leading. He knows the end from the beginning. He knows what you're going to need a week from now, a month from now, and even ten years from now. The good news is that He's already got it taken care of. Keep standing, keep believing, and keep praying because your prayers open the door for Him to move in every area of your life!

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective (James 5:16, NIV).

Have a blessed day.
