The Missing of MH370

Here what he wrote about the missing aircraft of MH370.

SUDDENLY MH370

/16.03.2014/

The statistics tell me that flying is far safer than driving. Funny. Empirically I never feel that way. Every time I get on a flight, I feel my mortality. Scary when you stop to think about it. Engine trouble fills everyone with dread. Terrorism, mentally unstable pilots, bombs, instrument malfunctions and suddenly everything changes! My big “what if “ moment is usually when the wheels are lowered for the landing. You can feel and hear them whirring as they come down. Then the loud “thud” as they lock in. What if they fail to deploy? Imagine. You’d be sitting there with clear minded certainty that every person with you was probably going to die. It wouldn’t be a matter of if, but when. In such circumstances what do most people do? You’re right. They pray! Even atheists and the irreligious. Then they think of their loved ones. Then their lives.
This past week has seen the world transfixed by the mystery of the missing aircraft. Why flight MH 370 “disappeared” on the radar screen will remain an interim puzzle even if they find its whereabouts by the time you read this. I have a poser. Why is it that 100,000 deaths in the Syria barely raise a yawn, but 239 lives missing on a flight grips the world? Because we each realize it could have been us on the flight. One day here. The next gone. For relatives and families of the lost, it’s been a global rollercoaster of emotions. First fear, then grief, anger and then mad outbursts of rage. Assuming the crew and passengers died “suddenly” and suffered little, the real pain is that experienced by the living on earth. Is there a reason? CS Lewis gave us a clue when he said, “God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks to us in our conscience but shouts to us in our pain. It is His megaphone to a deaf world.” What is He saying?
I believe for everyone reading this we need to re-establish God at the centre of our lives and existence. Live a life surrendered to Him. Hold lightly to your possessions. Don’t put money above your loved ones. Live daily in the present. Be generous. You can’t take it with you and it may all be gone in a blink! Never have regrets. Don’t hold on to unforgiveness. Love your family and enjoy them in the present. Above all get right with God. Live with an eternal purpose so that even if you were taken suddenly it was in an eternal stream and not a carnal, selfish one. If we live like that, then we will always be ready for “suddenly”. Even if we had been on flight MH 370.

2014 YEAR OF FAVOUR

Lets keep on praying for MH370
